Mayo darts star wins maiden MODUS title

Conor Heneghan claimed the MODUS Super Series weekly title this weekend to advance to the Series 7 Champions event.

The Super Series is a weekly tournament featuring 12 players, who compete during the week to win a place in the finals group on Saturday evening.

Having come through a tough group to qualify for yesterday's event, he defeated both Danny Jansen and Justin Smith on a 4-3 scoreline before seeing off Carlo van Peer 4-2 in the semi-final.

Up against Andy Boulton in the final, the Roundfort native defied a 99 average from his opponent to win a deciding leg on double five and win his first ever weekly title.
