Mayo beat the old rivals one more time

Heroes of old traded 50s and frees for fairways and tees last Monday, September 15 when ex-Mayo footballers took on ex-Galway footballers in a golf challenge at Ballinrobe Golf Club.
The event was organised by Seamus McHugh, John Finn and by Finn’s former Mayo teammate – and ex-Galway manager – Peter Ford.

Playing on home turf made all the difference to the Mayo team who beat their Tribesmen rivals, with Jimmy Duggan, captain of the Galway team, presenting the cup to Mayo captain Tommy O’Malley.
Richie Feeney posted the best Mayo score of the day while the best scoring Galway player was Frank Broderick.
