London boxers set for big night in Erris

Boxing: There's an exciting night of boxing in store this evening (Saturday) when Geesala Boxing Club hosts an international tournament in the local Erris Coast Hotel. Some of Mayo's finest boxers will be in action against the best of Harrow BC and a London selection. Boxers from all over Erris will also be in action in the supporting bouts.
Geesala BC travelled to Harrow a few years back and took part in a wonderful sporting show and thanks is extended to John and Ann Barrett for making these trips possible. The Barrett family have been wonderful supporters of everything Mayo, Erris, Geesala and Doohoma down through the years with their generous sponsorship and support to festivals and sports clubs.
Geesala Boxing Club has become the success that it is due to exactly that type of support and to the immense work of coaches, volunteers and boxers down through the years who have helped to make shows like next Saturday's happen.
The first bout is at 8pm and a large local support is hoped for to give the visiting boxers and coaches a fine Erris welcome.
