Husband and wife to take Motorsport award at Mayo Sports Stars
Ruthann O'Connor and John Warren are the recipients of the Motorsport award at the 2023 Western People Mayo Sports Stars Awards.
Fresh off their victory at the Irish Tarmac Rally Championship at the weekend, husband and wife John Warren and Ruthann O’Connor are this year’s Motorsport award recipients at the 2023 Western People Mayo Sports Stars Awards.
The Ballinrobe duo dominated the challenging Galway International Rally stages, steering their McHale Fusion 4 Corolla to an impressive Class 13 victory on the opening round of the Irish Tarmac Rally Championship.
They swept boards as Class winners in the National Irish Rally Championship, Border Rally Championship and West Coast Rally Championship.
Co-driver Ruthann also secured ‘Top Female’ awards at both the National Rally Championship and West Coast Rally Championship along the way.
The 2023 Western People Mayo Sports Stars Awards gala banquet will take place at Breaffy House Resort on the night of Friday, February 16, 2024. The function will include a drinks reception, a three-course meal, wine, the awards ceremony and entertainment. Tickets are priced at €65 per person.
