'Huge commitment and determination' - Mayo athlete sets new national record

A lovely presentation took place at Claremorris Athletic Club recently.
Youngster Philip Griffith won three medals at the All-Ireland Indoor Championships - gold in the 600m, and silver in both the long jump and 60m.
The presentation was to recognise Philip for setting a new national record in his 600m victory.
The athletics club said: “Throughout the year Philip has shown huge commitment and determination in each of his events. Well done Philip, and we wish you the very best of luck in the upcoming All-Ireland Outdoor Finals.”
