Golfers end decade-long wait for local glory

The ladies team from Belmullet Golf Club who won the Grainne Uaile competition on Saturday, November 16 for the first title in 10 years, beating Mulranny and Achill golf clubs. They won by a margin of 15 points, and a huge effort was made by everyone to win the title, in particular by lady captain Caroline Dixon who led the way both on and off the course. The team members were Geraldine Gallagher, Eimear Gilroy, Sarah McGuire, Sarah Togher, Caroline Dixon (captain), Christina Heston, Rita Walsh, Eileen Shevlin and Peigi Ni Oibicin.
