The GAA has approved a transfer from Mortimer’s home club Shrule-Glencorrib, with whom the former All-Star last played 10 years ago, when they took eventual All-Ireland intermediate club champions Westport to a replay in that season’s county championship semi-final.
In recent years Conor Mortimer has coached Kilbride in the Meath SFC.
Meanwhile, Westport footballer Ronan Geraghty has transferred to Brooklyn Gaels in New York City.
