All-Ireland Final countdown: One change to Mayo team for Kerry showdown

Mayo manager Andy Moran has made one change to the team for Sunday’s All-Ireland SFC Final against Kerry.

After impressive cameos off the bench against Cork and Louth, Conor Loftus has been rewarded with a starting berth at centre-forward, with Paul Towey the unfortunate player to lose out, having also impressed with his first-half displays in the same position against the same two counties.

Towey is included among a strong list of substitutes, with Moran having the experience of Paddy Durcan, Matthew Ruane, Diarmuid O’Connor and Aidan O’Shea to call upon, along with exciting attackers such as Tommy Conroy and Cian McHale.

For the likes of goalkeeper Jack Livingstone, Eoin McGreal, Darragh Beirne and Kobe McDonald, they are preparing to start an All-Ireland SFC Final in what is their first seasons as senior championship footballers.

Jack Coyne from Ballyhaunis will captain Mayo on Sunday, on what will be his 55th senior appearance.
