Next weekend is the final competition in the Golfer of the Year and is sponsored by Instrotec Electrical., Dublin, while there will also be news on the format for our Winter League and a start date next week.

Michael Molloy, with 20pts, edged out Maureen Mulloy on 19pts. to claim the latest seniors 9-holes competition. John Joe Mulchrone finished third with 18pts.

Frank Scally and John Gallagher swopped places from the week before with Frank, relegating John to second place in the Certa Oil (Certaireland.ie) sponsored stableford competition. Both recorded 41 pts. Jason O’Malley took third place on 39pts.

Next weekend’s stableford competition is sponsored by David Holmes Plant Hire, Tiernaur and you may play from Friday to Sunday. With only two weeks left in the regular season, time is running out for those who have aspirations in making the top sixteen in the G.O.Y. A special competition is being set up to reflect their standing.

John Joe Mulchrone edged out Padraic Walsh to claim the latest Seniors 9 Holes competition. Both recorded 16pts. Play Monday, Tuesday or Wednesday.

Congratulations to Achill who took a giant step to capturing the Connaught Jack O’Sullivan Trophy after defeating Castlerea 4-1 in the first leg final.
