Double gold for Mayo athlete at All-Ireland championship
Sean Gallagher, centre, claimed double gold at the All-Ireland Masters Championships.
Seán Gallagher had an excellent weekend at the All-Ireland Masters track championships by winning gold in the M55 800m and 1500m in Morton Stadium, Santry, Dublin.
The 1500m took place on Friday evening and the Moy Valley AC athlete and coach won the M55 title in a time of 4:33. The 800m race was on Saturday afternoon and Seán had to draw on all his stamina and experience to win in a time of 2:12.
It was a remarkable weekend for the Gallagher family with Seán’s nephew being Seamus Clarke, who represented our club and Ireland in the World U20 Championships,
