Double event at Knockmore/Foxford Boxing Club

Knockmore/Foxford Boxing Club staged a double event of boxing recently in the Knockmore Community Hall.
On Saturday night the Kelly Cup tournament was held and the host club had wins by Alan McTigue (Kelly Cup winner), Martin Lawerance, Josh Garvin Cian Hannigan and Thomas Tuffy. Tuffy stopped his opponent in the opening seconds of round two. Se Dempsey and Warren Ryder had keen exhibition contests to open the event and both boxers were impressive There were two KFC defeats on the night Jack O Boyle, Pearse Lawless and both boxers are new to the sport.
On Sunday, the club staged an underage event and five clubs participated in the event St Anne's, Eagle, Ardagh/Crossmolina, Claremorris and KFC. Some fine boxing was on the agenda with Theo Bronkel from Eagle BC and Fionn Gill Ardagh/Crossmolina being presented with Best Boxers awards.
