Enniscrone Golf Club recently celebrated a memorable Ladies Captain's Day, featuring a series of events that brought together golf enthusiasts of all ages. The festivities spanned four days and concluded with a historic competition on Sunday, July 21.

The event commenced on Thursday with an afternoon hosted by the Ladybirds, setting a cheerful and engaging tone for the days ahead. On Friday evening, members enjoyed a mixed social evening, sponsored by Ann and Mick Mullins, fostering camaraderie and friendly competition among participants. Saturday morning was dedicated to the junior program, where young golfers showcased their skills and enthusiasm for the sport.

The highlight of the celebration occurred on Sunday, as both ladies and gentlemen competed for the coveted Ladies Captain prize. This year marked a significant milestone as the gentlemen were allowed to play on the championship course for the first time on Lady Captain's Day. This new addition proved extremely popular, with the timesheet filling up quickly, demonstrating the enthusiasm and support from the male golfers.

Ladies captain Martha McNulty expressed her heartfelt gratitude to all participants for their support throughout the four-day event.

“I'm delighted to see such a wonderful turnout and the spirit of camaraderie among our members. Their support over the last few days has made this Ladies Captain's Day truly special,” she said.

Martha also extended her sincere thanks to all the generous sponsors for their invaluable support, both businesses and individuals locally and those from her beloved county Limerick. The event's success was made possible through their generosity and commitment. Additionally, Martha expressed her appreciation to all the members of the ladies' club for their work and support during her year of captaincy.
