Winner of Mini Marathon Early Bird competition revealed

Castlebar woman Gillian Conway will receive a stay in Mount Falcon after she won the Mini Marathon Early-bird registration promotion.
The Mount Falcon Estate was pleased to present Gillian Collins of Castlebar with a one-night stay at the estate for being the winner of the Early-Bird Registration promotion for the 15th annual Mayo.ie and Western People West of Ireland Women's Mini Marathon.
Gillian is running her 8th West of Ireland Women's Mini-Marathon on May 5 with this year’s event held in Ballina.
Mount Falcon is delighted to support the mini marathon, sponsored by the Western People and Mayo.ie, which aims to get people out in support of healthy living. The mini marathon is part of the Mayo Day celebrations and raises funds for several registered charities. Race participants have the option to select a charity of their choice upon registering. So far this year early registrants have already raised over €12,000 with time left before the event.
The race day event also includes the Mayo Sports Partnership 2k Mini-Mini Fun Run for Primary School Children and the Its4Girls Teenage Event just for Secondary School Girls. With an estimated 2,000 participants the mini-marathon is anticipated to again be the largest women’s only sporting event outside of Dublin in Ireland.
The race, which will start and finish in the newly renovated Market Square in Ballina, will wind its way through town and past landmarks like the River Moy, the Mary Robinson Centre, St. Muredach's Cathedral, and the Western People offices, before moving out toward Ballina Beverages on the Killala Road and then back into town through Belleek Woods
