Tributes paid to Daniel O'Donnell's manager Kieran Cavanagh

Kieran Cavanagh was Daniel O'Donnell's manager since 2015 and a close friend

Tributes have been paid to Kieran Cavanagh, one of Ireland’s top promoters in show business and the manager of country music star Daniel O'Donnell, following his death this morning.

Kieran, aged 67, was a native of Easkey, county Sligo and he died on Tuesday morning surrounded by his family at St Vincent's Private Hospital following an illness.

He was Daniel O'Donnell's promoter in Ireland for many years and he took over the role of his manager in 2015 when the Donegal native's original manager Sean Reilly retired.

Kieran was also previously the manager of American rock n’ roll legend Jerry Lee Lewis and he ran Irish tours for some of America's best known stars including Johnny Cash, Kenny Rogers Willie Nelson and Glen Campbell Daniel O'Donnell posted a poignant online tribute to Kieran on his social media today.

“It is with great sadness that I announce the passing of my friend and manager Kieran Cavanagh. RIP," he wrote.

“Kieran died this morning in the wonderful care of St Vincent’s Private Hospital surrounded by his loving family. Please keep them in your prayers at this very sad and difficult time.” Daniel previously wrote about Kieran's health battle in a Facebook post on October 20, 2023 which received thousands of messages of support from followers.

The country music legend asked people to pray for his manager and close friend Kieran Cavanagh.

"He has been diagnosed with brain cancer and he will start treatment soon," he said. "Please pray for him and his family at this difficult time."
