Tributes are paid to 'a joyful lady'

Tributes have been paid at a meeting of Ballina Municipal District to the late Mary Flannelly (nee Reape), of Corballa, Co Sligo.
Mrs Flannelly was a sister of Fianna Fáil Cllr Annie May Reape and sympathies were extended to Cllr Reape and the Flannelly and Reape families on the sudden passing of "a joyful lady".
Cllr Michael Loftus led the tributes, noting that Mrs Flannelly was the eldest of Cllr Reape's siblings.
“She was extremely caring to all the family members," he noted.
Cllr John O’Hara added his sympathies, telling Cllr Reape that he would often see her sister in Muddy Burns in Corballa on a Sunday afternoon.
“She was a joyful lady to meet who would always have a chat. She was a pleasant lady to everyone.”
Cathaoirleach Cllr Jarlath Munnelly wished to be associated with the tributes, while head of the municipal district Declan Turnbull and Mayo County Council's Director of Services Catherine McConnell also expressed their sympathies.
Cllr Reape said she was grateful to all her colleagues for attending Mary’s funeral, adding: “Mary was always doing kind deeds for neighbours up to the day she died.”
