Traffic gridlock in Ballinrobe 'can no longer be tolerated'
Cllr Damien Ryan raised the issue.
Ballinrobe-based councillor Damien Ryan has asked that the long-proposed bypass for the South Mayo town be put on a priority list as traffic gridlock cannot be tolerated any longer.
Raising the matter at last week's meeting of Mayo County Council's Roads and Sustainable Travel Strategic Policy Committee, the Fianna Fáil councillor commented: “While this is a policy committee, I ask that the Ballinrobe bypass be put back firmly on the agenda. The town is in gridlock, and we have to look at [the bypass] in earnest and I ask that the local authority put it on a priority list because we cannot tolerate it anymore.”
