SVP office accepting donations for Christmas appeal

St Vincent de Paul Ballina is now accepting donations as part of their Christmas appeal at their offices on Teeling Street.

Bishop of Killala John Fleming told masses in the diocese recently of an increase in the number of people seeking assistance from St Vincent de Paul due to skyrocketing costs of rental accommodation, fuel and food.

He said  there has been a rise in the number of working professionals who have made calls to St Vincent de Paul requesting assistance. He added there has also been an increase in the number of young people seeking assistance with mental health issues or problems with various addictions.

Bishop Fleming encouraged parishioners to support and donate to St Vincent de Paul where possible in the coming weeks in order to help them continue to support those in the local community who are in need of assistance.

Donations for the St Vincent De Paul Ballina’s Annual Christmas Appeal can be made by contacting the SVP Offices on Teeling Street, Ballina on 09672905.
