A well-known couple have died following a house fire in Swinford.
There is shock and sadness following the tragic death of a well-known couple following a house fire in Swinford.
The blaze at the two storey dwelling in the Kilkelly Road area is understood to have broken out in the early hours of this morning.
Emergency services were alerted to the fire in a house at Deerpark, on the outskirts of Swinford, at around 2am.

Gardaí and emergency services remain at the scene.
The deceased couple operated a business in the town for many years.
Fianna Fáil councillor Adrian Forkan said there is a sense of shock and sadness in the town.
"The shock and sadness in the town is palpable after waking up to this terribly tragic news today," Cllr Forkan said.
He said the tragedy comes just a short time after another fatal house fire in the East Mayo area.
Cllr John Caulfield said the community has been plunged into grief.
“It’s so very, very sad. The family would be very well-known and hugely popular. The thoughts and prayers of the entire community is with their loved ones,” said Cllr Caulfield.
“It’s devastating that this has come so soon after another tragic fire in nearby Kiltimagh,” he added.
The scene has been preserved for a technical examination by the Garda Techical Bureau to determine the exact cause of the fire.
The office of the local Coroner has been notified.
Enquiries are ongoing.
