Road is the 'worst in Co Mayo'
Concern has been expressed about a route in Mayo.
A West Mayo councillor said the road between Louisburgh and Westport is now among the worst in the county.
Cllr Chris Maxwell told the monthly meeting of Mayo County Council that damage is being caused to vehicles.
“The biggest problem we have back there now in Louisburgh is the road from Westport to Louisburgh, the R335. I would like some answers as to when new roadworks will proceed there.
He said a local builders' merchants are being impacted by the road conditions.
“All the 40ft artics and wagons supplying different stuff there are giving out stink,” said Cllr Maxwell. “There is massive damage being done to them at the minute,” he added.
He said lorry drivers have described the route as the “worst in Co Mayo”.
