Record breaking January for Ireland West Airport Knock

Ireland West Airport Knock had its busiest ever January last month with almost 45,000 passengers

A record number of passengers used Ireland West Airport, Knock, last month as almost 45,000 people flew in and out of the facility.

The number of travellers increased by 13% compared to January 2022 as a total of 44,264 boarded and disembarked flights at the county Mayo airport in January 2024.

There are now 21 international destinations for people flying out of Ireland West Airport and a record 818,000 passengers travelled through the facility last year.

Head of marketing Donal Healy recently said the launch of flights to Tenerife and Lanzarote, two of nine city break and sun destinations, has boosted the number of passengers.

He also said daily flights to Liverpool are proving very popular with passengers for stag and hen parties and premier league football matches.
