'Positive' reaction to work in Foxford

A local councillor has welcomed the conclusion of successful works to address damage caused to trees during Storm Éowyn in the Foxford area.
Coillte were recently on the ground carrying out works on the R318 from Foxford Train Station to the junction turning onto the R310 at Pontoon. While there were considerable delays for motorists, local councillor Neil Cruise said there has been an extremely positive reaction in the local area.
“It was a joy to deal with Coillte on this occasion. I have never seen a job reacted to so positively in the area before,” he told last week’s meeting of the Claremorris-Swinford Municipal District.
“This link road had trees falling out onto to the road and was hugely damaged during Storm Éowyn so it was great to get a solution so quickly."
