Parking bays for disabled proposed in Ballina

A Ballina councillor has requested that disabled parking bays be put in place outside Gavin’s Opticians on Garden Street in the town.

Cllr Marie Therese Duffy told the June meeting of Ballina Municipal District that the spaces "would be of great benefit to older people and those with mobility issues struggling to get parking". She also suggested that a disabled parking bay be installed at Molloy's Pharmacy, further up the street.

Area Engineer Teresa Durkin said the council would look into disabled parking at the stated locations.
