Over 50 jobs lost in Mayo town as factory closes down
Cosmetic Creations, Claremorris
Over 50 jobs have been lost in a Mayo town following the closure of a cosmetics manufacturing plant.
Cosmetic Creations, Claremorris, formerly Lynoslife, a contract manufacturer specialising in cosmetics, food supplements and nutraceuticals closed last Friday.
It is understood that 53 staff members were made redundant as a result of the closure at the company, located in the Claremorris IDA Park, which has been in business for over 40 years.
The company hit national headlines in March 2020 when it shifted manufacturing focus from its usual product range to the mass production hand sanitiser to aid the public’s response to the Covid-19 pandemic.
Cosmetic Creations has been contacted for comment.
