"Our family chain is broken" - funeral takes place of teenager who died after being struck by a car

The funeral of Vakaris Gudaitis took place this morning at St Colman's Church, Claremorris
The funeral of 17-year-old Vakaris Gudaitis, Tavrane, Kilkelly and formerly of Lithuania, who passed away after he was struck by a car took place this morning.
The incident occurred on the N17 at Barnacarroll, Claremorris at approximately 9.20pm last Saturday evening.
Requiem mass took place at 11 o’clock in St Colman’s Church, Claremorris.
A tribute read by Father Peter Gannon which was written by Varakis’s sister Karina said; “Varakis, in life we love you dearly, in death we’ll do the same.
“It broke our hearts to lose you. We fought, we laughed, we cried but most importantly, we loved.”
“Our family chain is broken and nothing seems the same but as God calls us one by one, the chain will link again. You were too young my dearest brother. I hope you are happy up there and will be watching over us. I will miss you forever.”
A committal service took place at Shannon Crematorium following Requiem mass.
Predeceased by his grandfather Kestutis. Sadly missed by his heartbroken parents Renata and Nerijus, brothers Ruslanas, Faustas and Nojus and his sisters Karina and Vilte, aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.
May his gentle soul rest in peace.
