Nolan calls for public toilets to be opened at IQ

Independent candidate for the Ballina Municipal District Willie Nolan wants to see public toilets open up at the Ballina Innovation Quarter
A Ballina local election candidate has called for public toilets to be opened at the newly built Innovation Quarter, Ballina.
Independent candidate Willie Nolan told the Western People there is a great opportunity to install toilets at the IQ located at the town’s former Military Barracks.
“Toilets should be placed in one of the units there and be open to the public during working hours.”
“I will not accept people having to go into restaurants or pubs to be able to use a public toilet.”
He said there is a lack of public toilets around the town, especially for wheelchair users.
“It is part of the remit of the local authority to provide these facilities for the general public and that includes wheelchair users and tourists to the town.”
"We need to strike while the iron is hot and get this done.”
Mr Nolan added a defibrillator should also be installed at the IQ as soon as possible.
