New warehouse is planned for Genfitt

After the successful acquisition of Genfitt, Kramp says it has plans to establish a new state-of-the-art warehouse facility in Mayo.

The company said this underscores its commitment to expansion and innovation in the region.

However, the proposed move has been met with some unease in Kiltimagh where the company’s Mayo warehouse is currently located.

Local councillor Adrian Forkan raised the matter at a recent meeting of Mayo County Council.

Kramp which is Europe’s largest specialist in spare parts and accessories for the agricultural industry, acquired Genfitt last year.

“In line with its ambitious growth plans, Kramp has identified the need for a new warehouse facility to support great service to customers in Ireland towards the future. Recognising that the current warehouse does not align with its ambitious vision, the company is actively searching for a suitable location to build a new facility,” said the company in a statement.

Ronan Egan, commercial director of Genfitt, said the aim is for the new facility to be located close to its current location.

“The team in Genfitt is central to Kramp’s success, and as such, the company is prioritising the proximity of the new facility to the current location to ensure minimal disruption to the team and operations. Kramp remains committed to Co Mayo.

"We are proud to call Co Mayo our home and are excited to continue our partnership with the local community," said Mr Egan.

"Our ongoing conversations with the County Council and the IDA reflect our shared commitment to sustainable growth and economic development. Kramp is aiming to find a new location as soon as possible, obviously depending on the official procedures and the availability of proper land for our needs,” he added.

As part of its expansion plans, Kramp anticipates doubling its workforce in the coming years.
