New Kilmovee Loop walk will be launched next weekend

The new loop walk is the latest development in Kilmovee village.
The launch of a 750m Kilmovee Loop walk that offers scenic views and includes nine stationary exercise equipment machines will take place this Sunday, October 22.
The €150,000 development, which is located adjacent to Kilmovee Community Centre, was funded through the Sports Capital Funding and the National Lottery.
Sheila Hunt, the manager of Kilmovee Community Centre, said the walk offers a safe and well-lit area for people to enjoy the amenity.
“This walk is a fantastic addition to the village and we look forward to meeting many people out there enjoying the fresh air on our launch day,” she added.
The walk is for pedestrians and those with buggies and the solar-powered large flood lights, provided by Econ Solar Solutions, will ensure there is enhanced visibility and safety.
The exercise equipment, supplied by Outfit Outdoor Exercise in Kiltimagh, will offer an extra opportunity to get fit in the village.
There are nine exercise stations, three of which are adaptable for wheelchair users and there is an agreement with Western Care Association that the facility will be available for its members’ own use at specific times.
There is also an agreement with Kilmovee Foróige Club and its 100 members to allow them to use the amenity.
The Kilmovee community is grateful to contractor, Paul Healy Construction, and the engineer, Waldron and Associates, from Claremorris, for their work on the project.
The site also has planning for 10 supported living houses for older and vulnerable people, a four-bed group home and a playground.
