Where does that money get spent?

They provide assistance in many ways. They fund physiotherapy and yoga classes, as well as other therapies and alternative treatments. They contribute to the costs of home help, care and nursing, particularly where people may fall through the cracks in state provision. They also help with fuel costs.

In addition, they assist in the purchase of necessary therapeutic equipment for individuals who need it, and they also help with the costs of making adaptations to the homes of people whose MS condition requires this.

They also help with the cost of people staying the Respite Centre in Bushy Park, in Dublin – a dedicated centre run by MS Ireland for people with multiple sclerosis.

Liam Cannon, chair of the local branch, said, “We know that Mayo people (and Irish people in general) are very generous, and we are asking for your support this weekend. All monies collected are used to benefit people with MS living locally.”
