Mayo Sports Partnership is thrilled to announce the launch of European Week of Sport 2025, taking place from 23rd to 30th September. This year marks a decade of celebrating movement, health, and community across Ireland and Europe, and Mayo is ready to mark the occasion with energy, excitement, and a renewed commitment to getting people active.
The theme for 2025, “Move More, Scroll Less”, is a timely reminder to pause the scroll and reconnect with real-life movement. Whether it’s a walk in your neighbourhood, a kickabout with friends, or simply spending time outdoors, this campaign encourages everyone to take small but meaningful steps toward better well-being, confidence, and connection.
To celebrate this milestone year, Mayo Sports Partnership will showcase highlights from past European Week of Sport celebrations in Mayo, reflecting on the inspiring stories and community spirit that have defined the last 10 years. These moments will be shared throughout the week across our platforms, reminding us of how far we’ve come—and how much more we can achieve together.
As always, Mayo Sports Partnership has put together a diverse and exciting Autumn Calendar of Events leading up to and during the week, including Swimming classes, Better Balance, Fitness for Teens, Women and Older Adults, Walking Football, Walks for National Walking Day, Inclusive activities for all ages and abilities.
These events are designed to ensure that everyone regardless of age, background, or fitness level, can find their way to move more.
Charlie Lambert, Head of Mayo Sports Partnership, shared his excitement:
“European Week of Sport 2025 is not just a celebration—it’s a movement. We’re proud to be part of this 10-year journey and to continue promoting physical activity and inclusion in Mayo. This year’s theme, ‘Move More, Scroll Less’, is a powerful call to action. Let’s come together, celebrate our progress, and show Europe how Mayo moves!” For a full list of events happening in Mayo, check out the Mayo Sports Partnership website.
