In the heart of Mayo, the Carnacon Girls recently wrapped up a six-week athletics programme as part of the inspiring Sport Ireland #HerMoves campaign.
Led by the talented and inspirational track athlete Aisling Joyce, these young girls showcased unwavering enthusiasm and dedication, turning every rain-soaked session at Lake District AC into a fun experience. Even with all the rain, their spirits remained unbroken, fuelled by the infectious combination of their wonderful coach, music, fun, and well-deserved post-workout hot chocolate, every session was enjoyed and looked forward to.

With up to 30 teenage girls attending each weekly session and maintaining an almost perfect attendance record, the success of the program is wonderful to see.
The #HerMoves initiative (www.hermoves.ie) is more than just a fitness campaign, it's a powerful movement designed to inspire and support teenage girls in their journey to an active lifestyle. It's about empowerment, confidence-building, and motivation to discover the activities that truly make you come alive. The Carnacon Girls have not only embraced the #HerMoves spirit but have become living examples of the positive impact it can have on a community. join the movement, find something that moves you, and let the world see the pride, success, and happiness that comes with being an active and empowered young woman.
