Major housing project proposed for Mayo town

Planning permission has been sought for a major housing development in East Mayo.

Newpark Developments Ltd have applied to Mayo County Council to construct the 60-home development on the Dublin Road in Swinford,

It is proposed to build 34 three-bedroom semi-detached units; six four-bedroom semi-detached units; six three-bedroom terraced units; six four-bedroom end-of-terrace units and eight four to five-bedroom detached homes. The developer also aims to provide a total of 180 car parking spaces as well as bicycle parking facilities.

The project would also see construction of a new site entrance, internal road network, landscaped public spaces, drainage infrastructure and connections to existing public utilities, along with all associated site development works.
