Brian Lavelle's creation My360town has produced a virtual tourism map for Belmullet and other towns across the country.
The app was launched last year and it has received a positive reaction.
The aim of the creation is to highlight and promote Belmullet and other areas of rural Ireland to an international market.
The software and technology allows the user of the app to explore Belmullet from above in the sky, zoom down to ground level and virtually walk into any business in the area.
The categories My360town has been nominated for include the Digital Tourism and Digital Rising Star sections.
The winners are due to be announced at an awards ceremony in Athlone on May 24.
