A pedestrian crossing has been long-awaited in the village of Bonniconlon
It has been confirmed that works on a long-awaited pedestrian crossing in Bonniconlon village will begin next year.
Fine Gael Cllr John O’Hara welcomed the news after he raised the matter at last week’s meeting of the Ballina Municipal District.
Cllr O’Hara said there is a high volume of traffic travelling through the village daily.
The Active Travel section of Mayo County Council is to hold a workshop this month to agree on the scope of these works and is anticipated the project will progress to construction in 2024, subject to National Transport Authority (NTA) approval.
