The St Stephen's Day Charity Swim in Crossmolina, in memory of popular local man Brian Mulhern, raised a staggering €11,955.63 for counselling services, based at Ballina Family Resource Centre, for people living in the North Mayo area.

This truly was an amazing event with an electric atmosphere, and it was a wonderful opportunity for all to meet up during Christmas in a beautiful lakeside location at Lough Conn, and to realise such an incredible amount of money.

A big thank you to the brave souls who braved the cold waters and filled sponsorship cards. A very big thank you to all who donated on the day and afterwards and to all the people from near and far who helped to ensure the event ran smoothly.

This event was a great success - and that was down to the team effort of everyone. The most important aspect of the fundraiser is that it has raised awareness for people that help is there when you need it.
