Free parking details revealed for Christmas season in Ballina

Parking will be free after 2pm in council car parks in Ballina from the traditional start date for Christmas shopping of December 8th until the end of the month. 

The arrangement was agreed by members of Ballina Municipal District at their meeting last week where it was noted that on-street parking charges will still apply. 

Ballina Municipal District manager Declan Turnbull said it would not be advisable to allow all-day free parking as this could end up in the car parks being full of workers’ vehicles. He also wished to promote the Mayo parking app to all motorists, where parking charges can be paid online for any public car park in the county.
