Elderly residents in Ballina suffering due to anti-social behaviour
Gardaí are aware of the situation.
A councillor has requested intervention from Ballina Municipal District to help prevent anti-social behaviour at the playground at Tom Ruane Park in the town.
Cllr Annie May Reape raised the issue at the June meeting of the authority, noting: “It is very hard to control youngsters engaging in anti-social behaviour. There are elderly people living nearby and all kinds of misbehaviour is going on. We are now coming close enough to Bonfire Night so I ask can we keep an eye out?"
Cllr Reape said An Garda Síochána were aware of the situation but she hoped the council might also intervene as it is "causing problems for the older residents”.
