E-scooters are 'a blight on our streetscapes'
E-scooters are “a blight on our streetscapes”, a councillor has claimed.
Cllr Damien Ryan made his comments at last week's meeting of Mayo Co Council's roads strategic policy committee when he queried what policy was in place to regulate them.
The council's Acting Head of Roads Conrad Harley advised that new laws on their use were being brought in and told members that council engineers meet quarterly with a road safety working group that includes representatives from An Garda Síochána, the Road Safety Authority and An Taisce and that he would raise the issue at the next working group.
