Councillors impressed with motor tax office returns in Ballina
Members of Ballina Municipal District have expressed thanks to staff at Ballina Motor Tax for all the work they do for the community.
Commenting on a management report showing that almost 1,000 transactions were carried out in the Motor Tax Office in Ballina throughout the month of May at a monetary value of €127,834, Cllr Annie May Reape told the June meeting of the municipal district: “I am amazed at the amount that is generated through the office. It is very good, I am always intrigued by it and wonder how does it compare to previous months.”
Head of the district Anna Connor said she would prepare a graph to show average monthly value, adding, “We always have around that amount.”
Cllr John O’Hara commented: “Every time you send away for your motor tax it is not straightforward, so a lot come into the office for help. I thank the ladies down in the office because a lot might not be able to sort out their tax without them and while we have it, it is a great facility and I hope it stays.”
