Councillors approve sale of two sites in Mayo
Members of Claremorris-Swinford Municipal District have approved the disposal of a council-owned site in Swinford Industrial Park,
The purchaser is O’Donnell Plant Spares Ltd, which specialises in the supply and trading of plant machinery and spare parts. The company is in the process of expansion.
Council management told the recent municipal district meeting that the sale would allow the company to develop overseas markets for the maintenance and operation of construction and civil engineering machinery.
Members also approved the disposal of a plot of land in Abbeyquarter, Ballyhaunis, to Uisce Éireann, which had sought the plot with a view to expanding the nearby Ballyhaunis Wastewater Treatment plant. The land parcel was valued at €10,000 and the plot was not advertised for sale as it is deemed essential for local infrastructural development.
