Civic reception for Ring

Westport-Belmullet Municipal District plans to host a civic reception in honour of former Mayo TD and Minister Michael Ring on Friday, July 25 next.
Cathaoirleach Cllr Peter Flynn told members at their meeting last week that “it must be nearly a year since this was proposed” and asked Councillors to put the date in their diary, with confirmation of venue and time details to follow.
Mr Ring was first elected to Westport Town Council in 1979 before going on to serve on Mayo County Council and Dail Éireann. He was also a junior and senior minister between 2011 and 2020.
