Car park in Mayo town centre to close for several weeks due to works

Works to install a crash barrier at the car park at Mill Street/High Street in Westport are set to commence in the next two weeks alongside some resurfacing works at the same location. 

The news was delivered to councillors at last week's meeting of Westport Belmullet Municipal District.

Cathaoirleach Cllr Peter Flynn said he was delighted to hear there would be progress on this long-awaited project, adding: “I understand the car park will be closed for a number of weeks and I ask local businesses and the community to bear with us. It will be worth it in the end," the Fine Gael councillor added.
