Calls to repair damaged bridge

Cllr Neil Cruise highlighted the issue.
A local councillor has called for remedial action to be taken on two roads in the Foxford area that have been damaged and depreciated over time,
Speaking at last week's meeting of Claremorris-Swinford Municipal District, Fine Gael Cllr Neil Cruise said the bridge at Boherhallagh was recently damaged while a depression has formed in the road on the N26 at Belass on the Ballina Road. Cllr Cruise said there has been a "failure" in the road, adding that the depression is currently causing a lot of damage to vehicles and he would like to see action taken at this location.
He also called for works to be carried out quickly on the bridge at Boherhallagh on the Swinford side of the town. A vehicle recently hit the bridge and part of it was knocked into the river.
Director of Roads Tom Gilligan and Senior Area Engineer Conrad Harley said they would look into both issues.
