Mellett’s Hill draws runners from far and wide

Members of Swinford AC which was the host club for the Mayo Even Ages, Senior and Masters Cross Country Championships which tok place on Mellett's Hill on Sunday, September 28.

Athletics: The Westnet Mayo Even Ages, Junior, Senior and Masters Cross Country Championships were hosted by Swinford Athletic Club at Mellett’s Hill on Sunday, September 28. The weather was ideal with underfoot competitions absolutely perfect.

Athletes travelled from all corners of Mayo to compete, with some taking part in competition for the first time along with other more experienced runners who were giving their all in an attempt to qualify for the Connacht Championships.

Participations medals were presented to all the U8 boys and girls who competed.

U8 Girls 

East Mayo: Chloe McDonnell, Ellie McNeill, Ruth Munnelly, Sadie McNeill, Denise Friel, Illa Kate Gavigan, Anna Kilroy and Aobheann Hopkins.

Claremorris: Ada Brogan, Saoirse Neary and Aine Hallinan.

Erris: Naoise Anodain and Seoda Deane.

Lake District: Anna Keane.
