The man, who cannot be named due to the nature of the charges, is in his 70s and faces 79 allegations relating to the sexual abuse of four girls in Ireland during the 1970s and 1980s.

James O’Reilly (91) pleaded guilty to four counts on a 'full facts' basis following discussions with his legal team.

The two charges against the former coach relate to allegations he indecently assaulted a boy he coached in the 1970s.

The two victims were aged between 14 and 16 at the time of the abuse.
