The Causeway Coast and Glens Heritage Trust (CCGHT) is taking over management responsibility for the Dark Hedges in Co Antrim.

More than 2,000 items, including a melted version of the coveted Iron Throne, distributed across 900 lots will be on the auction block in October.

The actor said ‘some interesting choices’ were made on the HBO fantasy epic ‘that didn’t quite work’.

The actor confirmed the HBO series is no longer in development.

Campaigner Mervyn Storey said a funding package was desperately needed to preserve the future of the Dark Hedges in Co Antrim.

Northern Ireland’s Department of Infrastructure said there is a risk to the public at the Co Antrim site.
