Brendan Mullin is accused of stealing over €570,000 from Bank of Ireland Private Bank among other charges

Mr Mullin, of Stillorgan Road, Donnybrook, Dublin 4, has pleaded not guilty to one count of stealing €500,000 from Bank of Ireland (BOI) Private Bank.

The jury was told Mr Mullin was the managing director of Bank of Ireland Private Bank at the time of the alleged offences and that he is a former rugby international who played for Ireland.

He was one of two men arrested on Tuesday following a search conducted at a property in Limerick.

The teen is also accused of stealing the vehicle he was driving

Jill Bergin (39) a separated mother of two of Castle Manor, Ferns, Co Wexford, pleaded guilty to three sample counts of theft from three residents at Ros Mhuire centre in Rathdrum, Co Wicklow.

One of the men has since been charged and is due to appear in court on Wednesday

Following their arrests and detentions, one man in his 20s was charged and brought before the District Court on Thursday, January 25th.

Ciaran Farrell of Permanent TSB told Mr Lynn's defence counsel that two people present in court on Monday and last Friday were from the legal department of the bank.
