The swimming pool in Ballaghaderreen has been closed for more than two years.

The youngster was resuscitated on Tuesday afternoon after being pulled out of the water by lifeguards who initially assisted him before emergency responders took over.

There are plans to sell the old swimming pool in Castlebar to a local soccer club for just €100. The proposal was made at a meeting of Castlebar Municipal District.
