Organisers have said that the gatherings are an opportunity for people to show their support for thousands of people who took part in protests on the M8 last week.

The man was struck by a car while walking on the motorway and was pronounced dead at the scene.

Gardai said the victim was involved in a single-vehicle collision on the M8 road at Upper Riverstown.
