Thomas “Tossy” Nyhan, 60, Crookstown, Co Cork, was sentenced to 11.5 years with the final year suspended, for raping the man, in April 2019.

The man said that Nyhan spoke of his children during the incident which he said he found to be “twisted and inhumane”.

Ms Justice Mary Ellen Ring lifted reporting restrictions in the case, but ordered that no details could be reported that might lead to the identification of the victim.
