The ex-Sinn Féin president said he was consulting lawyers after a Bill was tabled to prevent him securing a payout over his internment in the 1970s.

A 2020 Supreme Court ruling had paved the way for Mr Adams to secure compensation for his detention without trial in the early 1970s.

The former Sinn Féin leader said it was now ‘obvious’ the Labour Government will not repeal the Legacy Act.
